General Information/Job Summary

In this role, I report to the VP of Operation Services for Saulsbury Industries.  As the Director of Project Controls, I provide technical and administrative direction to the Saulsbury project teams throughout all Saulsbury Industries Business Lines.  My responsibility is to act as a subject matter expert for Project Controls work processes, procedures, systems, and the development of historical information for our OG&C, Power, Pipeline, Maintenance, and Nuclear divisions.  I also support the Executive Leadership team as well as business line management.

Management of overhead budgets and/or capital expenditures within defined limits, is also my responsibility. I lead large teams of direct reports and frequent interface with other disciplines such as functional/management leadership, project personnel, engineers, and Project Estimators.

My Corporate Responsibilities/Competencies

·         My position requires a combination of salesmanship, technical empathy, superior skill with Project Controls tools, estimating, cost engineering, scheduling, construction management, and corporate business management

·         I am required to lead teams of Project Management and Project Controls professionals.

·         I lead all activities with respect to business management, cost management, and planning for an office or major project including functional objectives and initiatives

·         I support and interface with Business Development in the preparation of proposals, commercial pricing, and execution of projects in areas specific to Project Controls

·         I conduct or provide Project Controls audits to the projects as required.

·         I lead Project Controls Team meetings and identify and assign staff to Project Controls positions consistent with the individual’s abilities and career development

·         I am responsible for the quality, timeliness, and consistency of Project Controls work produced by the department or project

·         I coordinate the provision of historical data and ensure it is meaningful and normalized for reuse by the Estimating Department

·         I strive for talent development and recruitment within sphere of influence

·         I support and actively participate in Saulsbury Strategic Planning

·         I maintain and enhance Project Controls techniques through associated professional organizations, software vendors, and other Project Controls Specialists within the engineering, procurement, and construction/construction management (EPC/EPCM) industry as well as client representatives
