Richard Emms

First Name:
Richard
Last Name:
Emms

I grew up in Upminster in Essex and attended Hall Mead School.  I left school in 1984 and was fortunate to gain an apprenticeship in carpentry for a small London builder and developed my carpentry skills in residential refurbishment projects.  When I completed my 3.5 year apprenticeship I continued to study part time for a further 4 years gaining construction related technical qualifications.  In 1994 I graduated with BSc in building management at the Ruskin University in Chelmsford (formally know as Anglia Polytechnic University).

During the course of my career I have developed an expertise in identifying the builderbility and logistical challenges that are often found in inner city projects.  My career has enabled me to grow in the knowledge expertise needed to manage design teams and sub-contractors whilst tactfully reminding team members fo their contractual obligations and programme deadlines.  I have the communication skills needed for all disciplines in the construction industry and have undertaken many H&S awarness courses.  In 2002 a project I delivered new premier departures lounge for Eurostar and was awarded the 1st place in FX awards category for the best international public space.

I have my own website www.myconstructionpgrammes.com and have published an ebook on construction programming and scheduling.

I am interested and qualified as a NLP master practitioner and have interests in the stock market trading.  I own two residential properties that I lease to tenants one of which is in Prague, Chez Replublic.

I am married with 3 children and live in Surrey.
