Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

You can join PMI and apply online to get a copy of PMBOK that you need.

Dear ELY..

PMBOK is a guide for the PMP exam and the logics in the book are applicable to all sort of projects..as we plan with the same methodology for all projects with the same logics only the terminology of milestones and WBS differs..same as information tchnology projects are applicable in that row.

Hi Marcio,

It is not uncommon to find software development professionals taking up PMP certification. I met few in USA and India but never came across on this forum.

Hi Marcio,

Peter’s advice is good as far as PRINCE is concerned, although you might consider the Rational Unified Process (RUP) as well for software development.

PM body of knowledge is not a methodology it is a guide-line or u may say way of thinking, organizing thoughts , group of procedures which can be applied to any project any phase any work package.
