When I go to file and choose import and check box to select project then press next this msg appear " an application event has been intercepted please note the event code for reference ECLUS-0337-4 and it appears for import any p3 files.

Anybody has a clue how to solve this.

Abdallah,

You already know the answer to your question but are hoping that you are wrong.  You are correct in guessing that P3 has to be installed on the same computer before you can import P3 files.  Ordinarily, the “Import P3 Files” radio button would be grayed-out but apparently, you used to have P3 installed and this is fooling P6 into trying to make a go of it.

Cheer up!  There is still a way you can make this work.  Primavera has posted a conversion package on their support website that will take P3 files and convert them into XER files that you can then import into P6.  I suggest that you download them (there is one for P3-to-XER and another for XER-to-P3) and use this technique.  Good luck!
