Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Dear All,

I have started my project on 24th July 2011 – 7:00 am and my completion date of project is 31st Dec 2012 5:00 pm. I am using 6 days 10 hours working calendar for all activities and my WBS is also using the same calendar as Default calendar. I noticed two problems in my program.

  1. Some of the activities are starting at 11:00 am , and some by 1:00pm , due to the reason if I give FS relation , then an activity instead of starting on next day , it start on the same day 11.00 am. How to solve this problem.
  2. The second problem is , if I assign duration of activities of 5 , P6 takes only 4. For example suppose I start and activity on 6th November 2011 (Sunday is working day) the activity should complete on 10th November 2011, but it is completion on 9th November 2011. The calendar I have already checked , that is not a problem , kindly explain.

Go to Admin > Admin Preferences > Time Periods and check your Hours/Day setting is 10 instead of 8.
