Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hi All,

Can anyone throw some light on the Integration between Primavera Enterprise Ver. and Workflow systems like SharePoint.

How implementation of Primavera Enterprise version helps in acting as a single platform for collaborating all information related to design development, procurement & Installation in a project and how far it could optimize resource utilization in a project.

Your valuable input appreciated in this aspect.

Cheers

The previous was taken from a oracle document that talks about integration with P6.

Many companies have chosen to deploy Microsoft SharePoint as their enterprise collaboration and document management platform. Primavera Web Services is an ideal integration technology for extending the functionality and data from Primavera P6 Enterprise Project Portfolio Management into the SharePoint environment. SharePoint Web parts—or graphical portlets—can be created for project members. These provide visibility into key performance indicators—schedule statistics, variances, milestones, and risks—from Primavera P6 Enterprise Project Portfolio Management. In addition to viewing data from Primavera P6 Enterprise Project Portfolio Management in SharePoint, interactions such as progressing an activity are also possible.

Francis,
Primavera Enterprise is an open database and easy to integrate to any database using API or ODBC. We use external timesheets database to integrate to Primavera, Design development, Procurement and construction. Our costing system is also integrated to Primavera. We use production steps for all design deliverables, from revision to revision for progress tracking. Procurement database and construction activities. WBS should be standard and one point of reference and same to Account Code (CBS) for Job Costing. It’s an alliance project so it is composed of multiple projects from concept design/optioneering, functional design, detail design, procurement and construction, commissioning and handover. Resource management optimization and utilization are very useful from project to projects. A proper documented procedure and workshop/ training will help to educate all key members and so far it’s been successful.
