Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hi Dear Planners,
Is there anybody have an idea how to distribute the resource equally for a period. For eg: I have 10 Engrs. and i would like to use these guys for a period of 3 months.(April , May & June ) Looking at the resource assignments p6 gives 6 for april , 13 may , 11 june, infact it spreading the resource numbers on the basis of the early peak curve but what i need is to spread the resource equally ( 10,10,10) for each month. I have tried with linear curve as well but it doesnt gives me the result the way i need. Is there anyone have any idea how to show the resource assignemnts like this.

I am using p6.1
Regards

Suresh,
You can also use level of effort link from first and last activity of a period if summary task is not possible. (Ex: activities are sitting on different WBS)

Hi Suresh

I do this on occasion by creating a ’level of effort’ activity for the entire duration; link start to start to your first activity in April and link finish to finish to your last activity in June, both relationships should be under ’predecessor’. Assign your 10 engineers to this level of effort activity and I think this may solve your problem. - Worth a try!

I hope this helps

Hi Suresh

Try putting the resource on a summary bar.
