Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

My question is as simples as this: How can I visualize 2 projects in Primavera P6.2?

I opened two projects (selected both and after Ctrl-O) and I was expecting that Primavera opened both projects in the layout on "Activities View".

Thanks,
AF

Now I got it. :) Now I’m seeing two projects in the Activities Workspace.

But I was thinking in two subprojects, or more subprojects of a master project. If it was like so, I only need to open one project, export one or guaranty one time all subprojects definitions (calendar, baseline, ....). Maybe I express myself wrongly or maybe this is the only way to work with subprojects.

Having two projects open, or more projects open, it’s more difficult to work than one with subprojects.

Thanks,
AF

Screenshots or file attachments can’t be sent within the forum.

To open two projects: File --> Open --> select and mark (using ctrl-key) the two projects --> button "open"
G&S: Access as shown before --> if you’ll klick onto "wbs" all other possibilities appear --> select "project" --> move cursor one line below --> klick onto that empty field --> select what you need.

Appropriate screenshots and more explanation you’ll find in the RefManual (PMRefMan.pdf).

OK Dieter.

But it’s possible to see two projects at the same time? Could you give a example how to configure Group&Sort to display two projects?

When I open Group&Sort window, with both projects opened, it shows Group By: WBS level 1, and after WBS level 2 (grey), WBS level 3 (grey), ..., WBS level 20. But this only shows default project in "Activity Workspace".

It’s possible to add snapshots in posts?

What I want to do is see two projects opened in two windows showing their activities inside the "Activities Workspace".

I was trying to change Group&Sort definitions, but the changes are only affecting the default project. Furthermore, I could not see how could I select different "Group by" options and apply to each project.

As an example:

Project
------------------
Sub-Project 1
Activity 1.1
Activity 1.2
------------------

------------------
Sub-Project 2
Activity 2.1
Activity 2.2
------------------

I don’t really understand your question.
In P6 you select projects, then open them all. No restriction on quantity.
By group & srt you can group the data by all existing criteria - codes, project, etc. Move cursor into table area --> right mouse button --> group & sort
