Website Upgrade Incoming - we're working on a new look (and speed!) standby while we deliver the project

Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Currently using p3e and next year will need to develop and maintain an integrated programme made up of 5 or 6 plans provided by various contractors.

3 of them will be in p3e the others will probably be a mix of primavera and mpp

What tips can you provide in ensuring that integrating the plans into 1 will go as smoothly as possible.

One of the issues I encountered last time included the settings used by some of the contractors when scheduling their plan. (1 had it set to predecessors calander and the other had it set to successor calendar which caused problems when merging the programmes together in one)

HiSimon,
The first problems you are more like to encounter will be interface problem between the packages you will be importing individual programmes from and P5/P6.The other issue you are more like to face problem with might have to do with calendars. Its a long time since I did integration of programmes and particularly on Calendars, I think what I did was to create a calendar in P5/P6 to match the Calendar of the programme being imported before importing. If this is not done, you might have same dates but durations may differ on both programmes. You might have to save programmes and analyse the results before repeating this on the main programme. Please PM me and I will send you info about how to deal with calendars during integration, Thanks.

I am assuming from your post that you are "controlling" the project and as such will own the "integrated programme"
What I suggest you do is to set the ground rules for the programmes that will be submitted to you.
You will no doubt have to do some checking/adjusting where the input is in MSP format (good luck!)
