Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Haresh,
Email messaging function in P6 is used to send an Issue & Threshold to respondent.
By setting up the Mail Preferences you can use P6 to send created issues and it creates historical discussion regarding that issues until its been closed.

MAPI setting is the same as RCP or Component Object Model based API for Microsoft Windows. MAPI allows client programs to become (e-mail) messaging-enabled. Simple MAPI ships with Microsoft Windows as part of Outlook Express/Windows Mail while the full Extended MAPI ships with Office Outlook and Exchange.

If you are using Office Outlook and Microsoft Exchange Server for email select MAPI then enter your profile email and password then clear outgoing SMTP in order to send email.

For POP/SMTP setup use internet and enter SMTP (i.e. mail."provider".com).

For the default recipient you can enter you own email address (to have a copy) and add more recipient by clicking add and select an option to select from the list or manually type the email address when sending an issue.

Best Regards,
Rodel
