Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Please help:

I have two project groups in the same folder on the network drive. I am trying to copy a project within a project group and save as a different project within the same group. It works on one of the project groups, but not on the other i.e. it flashes an error message “copying… access rights...” it copies only the project name, project id and title to the project group but not the activities… I have checked my access rights, and its ok…

For clarity;

Project Group AL10
Project Name AP10
Copy Project Name AP10 and save as AP12 works on Project Group AL10

Project Group BL10
Project Name BP10
Copy Project Name BP10 and save as BP12 does not work on Project Group BL10
…flashes an error message “copying… access rights... copies only the project name, project id and title to the project group but not the activities

Regdz,
If

Hi,

Try to replace the USERFIL.P3 file:

The USERFIL file is a global file that stores user-specific information such as username, password, and user preferences. To replace the USERFIL.P3 file, do the following:

1. Open the P3.INI file by going to Start, Run and typing P3.INI.

2. Note of the USERFILLOC (E.g. USERFILLOC=C:\P3WIN\P3WORK\USERFIL.P3)
and PROGLOC (E.g. PROGLOC=C:\P3WIN\P3PROGS) directories.

3. In Windows Explorer, browse to the USERFILLOC directory and rename the USERFIL.P3 file to USERFIL.OLD.

4. In Windows Explorer, copy USERFIL.SMP from the PROGLOC directory to the USERFILLOC directory.

5. Rename the USERFIL.SMP in the USERFILLOC directory to USERFIL.P3.

6. Start the Netset application and readd the P3 user names.

Note:
If the USERFIL.SMP file is not in the PROGLOC directory, you can copy it from the P3 installation CD. If you copy the file from the CD, the file is READ-ONLY. To remove this attribute, in Explorer, right-click on the USERFIL.P3 file and choose Properties. Uncheck Read Only in the Attributes section.
