Website Upgrade Incoming - we're working on a new look (and speed!) standby while we deliver the project

Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

This entering resource for each & every activity is becoming a tedious and time consuming process process for me, does any one have any easier and faster solution for it.

Hi Ifeanyi/ Hassan,

Just for additional info. Both RA/ Excel utils and export/ import under P3 utilities have same result on P3. You can choose which one can suit best for you. Be sure to understand the logic and procedure on how to do it and I recommend doing a lot of practice before using it on a live project. Also be aware to delete the existing link or logic before importing a new logic to the same activities otherwise you will end up of multiple link on same activities. If your familiar with visual basic, that will help a lot. Enjoy planning.

Cheers,

Rodel

Hello Ifeanyi

RA it is a kind of API to access functionalities of P3, and it can be used with many programming language,
If you go to P3M\Ra\Samples\EXCEL( in your installation CD ROM) you will find some sample excel files using Macro (visual basic for application ;)

You can use them to update many things in your schedule like resources. sometimes it is better to introduce data in a spreadsheat software then in the old fashion P3

Hi Rodel,

I am also interested in knowing what you mean by RA/Excel in P3.1. However, my understanding of your earlier comment is simply put this way:

Take export of the plan specifying the content, format and selection to excel,

Update the resources in excel,

Import to the plan.

I hope we are on the same page.

Try RA/Excel utils in P3.1 or Export/Import in P3e
