Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hello,

I recently changed PCs and reinstalled p3, 3.1 on my new OS, XP. I previously had Windows 2000. Now when I try to print anything from P3, it gives me a "Printer Error: General Error" message. All other programs print without any problem.

Has anyone come across this and could anyone point me into any useful direction

Thanks
Rajeev

hey if you are facing any printing error then you can fix printing error status by following steps .this work 9 out of 10 times:-

  1. First of all, cancel any print jobs that may be in the queue.
  2. Switch off and restart the printer.
  3. Check the paper in your printer.

Hi,
i faced the same with HP and with PDF printers. Here is the results:

2 things should care about when printing from P3 3.1 on a XP OS (even with SP2).

1- as said install the P3SrvPk3.zip.
which will solve half of the problem.

2- go to the settings of any printer you r using and make it to send the prints as a Bitmap and/or adjust the spooling to print after last page is sent from P3.

and u will not have any further problem.

and good luck.

I think you forgot to install the service-package P3SrvPk3.zip
