Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hi there,

I've been tasked with reviewing what our requirements are for the creation of new operations within a task list. The below requirements are what we have in our documentation but this has resulted in some tasks having over 100 operations to feed into a Gantt chart. Would really appreciate some improvement suggestions.

An independent operation is any operation which has any of the following differences:

  • Type of work to be performed is different from previous work operation.
  • The resource work centre required to complete the work is different, if not part of the crew already completing the works.
  • Number of hours, or personnel, to complete the work is different.
  • Specific materials or services are required against a specific operation.
  • Specific work instructions are required to be assigned to a specific operation

Regards,

Aaron

Thanks for the feedback Vladimir. I think that certainly helps to clarify the requirement a bit better.
