Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hello

How would you go about building a reliable schedule when the project that you are planning is completely new.

What are the requirement considerations, how would you break the scope of work, estimate resources durations costs etc.

Any guidance / advice from senioe planners will be greatly appreciated.

there are rates at the top of this page for to determine installation durations. There are also standard estimating programs out there that will give you durations based on industry standards of installation i.e. X number of LF of large conduit installtion per day. Timberline (now SAGE), Richardson Race, Accu Bid, McCormik, Cubit, STACk, Turbobid, ProEst.

Hi Sam

Building a reliable schedule for a completely new project is quite a common requirement in our profession.

How to do this? There are several standard practices you can use but I suggest to use the Planning Planet Guild of Project Controls Compendium and Reference and that is simply to view by clicking on the top of the page.
