Guild of Project Controls: Compendium | Roles | Assessment | Certifications | Membership

Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hi again, all. Long time, no post.

There is a discussion in the "A Critical Situation" thread which focuses on a discussion of CPM. There is a concentration on discussing float (as is appropriate to answering the thread starter’s questions).

However, I think there is an important missing element in CPM theory. In this regard, I’d like to ask for comments on the following article that Bill Duncan (author of the 1996 PMBOK Guide) and I published in the most recent Chief Project Officer magazine:

A good point in this article is that

"The impact of resource constraints on the critical path is often ignored."

For real analysis this factor should be taken into account
