Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

In a road project, after assigning each equipment to each activity, it is obevered that P3 calacultes the total no of equipment without taking into account overlaping period.

e.g.
1) One Loader is assigned to Improved Subgrade from 20/9/03 to 10/10/3 and
same Loader is assigned to granular sub base from 11/10/3 to 15/11/3

2)One Loader is assigned to Improved Subgrade from 20/9/03 to 10/10/3 for Section 1 and
same Loader is assigned to Improved Subgrade from 11/10/3 to 15/11/3 for Section 2 in the same schedule

when i calculate no of dumpers for the above two cases, it comes out as 2 dumpers instead of one for above subject cases and P3 should calculate one dumper only for the entire period whereas it calculates two dumpers? why

Hi sir
May, I can help you, I think you have limited resouce and you want to know how we can this resource for activities, you should do leveling for your resources, you can select "Tools" and then "level" next go in tab of resource. just you shall know leveling to make a new schedule based on logical relationship of activities.
I hope the above is clear.

Our requirement is only to use one loader for these two activties then how we assign loader for these two activites so that net result should come out as one loader?

It is because of the same dumper assigned to work on the same duration for two concurrent activities, so P3 calculates 2 dumpers.
