Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hello,

I am trying to create the foundation for a report resembling the table below, where the milestone is extracted from each project. I have looked into activity codes, but can't work out how to bring that information up to a project level.

Table:

ProjID ProjName Start Finish Milestone

001 Proj-001 01/01/2013 01/06/2013 01/03/2013
002 Proj-002 02/02/2013 01/07/2013 01/04/2013
003 Proj-003 03/03/2013 01/08/2013 01/05/2013
004 Proj-004 04/04/2013 01/09/2013

01/06/2013

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Hi Raymund,

Thanks for your reply. The milestone in question is actually the date marking the energisation of some electrical equipment. This will then be followed by some approval and testing activities, and other project formalities, which could end up finishing some time after the energisation has happened.

I was wondering if there was a way to add a column with an 'IF...THEN' formula (i.e. IF [activity name = energisation date] THEN [copy date]) and then bring this column into the project level view.

I will investigate your suggestion but I fear it isn't going to work for me.

Regards

Mark

Mark,

I assume that the Milestone is the Project Contract Finish Date.

Set the "Must Finish By" with the Project Contract Finish Date and Show the "Must Finish By" Column Renamed to Milestone.
