Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Have used MS Project 2003 for years.  On that, when you send an mpp file to someone, they can open and make edits, but like I said, new to Project 2010.  Anyway, when I sent an mpp file to my Project Manager it came through read only with the tool ribbon at the top greyed out.  Right clicked on the file and checked the General tab and neither the Read-Only or Hidden boxes are checked.  Need to be able to send the manager a fully functional file.

You are having multiple level problems.  Everyone using that file must be on the same software level to be successful.  That said MSP 2010 has the ability to send the current file to someone.  Try going to File --> Save & Send --> Send as an Attachment.  This will take the current open file and send it as an attachment in a email.  I would probably click save before I would do this.

If the person receiving the file does not have 2010, they will be converting the file to 2007 when they read it.  Do not take the file back.  Converting up and down will eventually corrupt the file and it will become unusable.
