Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

If my resources have 2 types of OT rates i.e. hours after 5pm and hours on Saturday, Sunday and Public Holiday, how to I input these OT rates in MSP?

Please help.

Thank you.

Hi Chin,

MS Project only has two rates, Standard and Overtime. Unfortunately this means that there is only one overtime rate available. It is common practice in the UK to pay two overtime rates (time and a half and double time) so I understand your frustration.

The only ways I have found to skirt round this issue are by using a dummy resources (a copy of the named resources with OVT in the description) to capture the Sun / PH overtime, or capturing Sun / PH the hours, calculating what the additional overtime cost will be and then forcing the extra costs into the schedule.

Sadly not ideal by any means.

Regards,

Darren
