Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hi,

What is the correct method for linking a delay activity to the baseline programme?

Two colleagues have provided the following differing information.

1. The delay activity is linked to the predecessing / successing activity of the original planned activity.

2. The delay activity is linked to the same planned activity in the baseline programme.

Some clarity would be much appreciated.

Hi Jonathan - Welcome to Planning Planet.

A delay event is set into the bar chart as a single bar or a sub chart - I never use the word "fragnet".

The end of the event is then linked FS to the impacted task or tasks in the bar chart. That is all you need to know.

Whether you use the agreed baseline or an updated progressed programme depends on many factors which a skilled delay analyst would know instinctively.

Best regards
