PLANNING ENGINEER, Magnox Electric, Nuclear Decommissioning

Based at Hunterston 'A' Nuclear Decommissioning Site, as part of a multidisciplinary team working on a portfolio of complex projects associated with the decommissioning process. Responsibilities include:

  • Developing detailed logic linked schedules, identifying the WBS, critical path, milestones, resources and budgets, from project conception to closeout.
  • Produce detailed schedule/cost performance reports, showing BCWS, BCWP, ACWP, SPI’s, CPI’s and variance analysis.
  • Provide trend analysis and forecast future performance/costs, identifying critical areas and providing acceleration/recovery options were applicable.
  • Review and agree contractor’s progress and milestone payments.
  • Provide professional advice and communicate with management and engineers to seek and give information concerning progress and performance on the project.
  • Implement and comply with programme controls processes to ensure that the highest possible levels of quality are maintained, in line with Magnox and the NDA’s procedures.
  • Facilitate and support the business/project risk management processes.
  • Manage Baseline and Funding Change Controls in accordance with Magnox procedures.
  • Evaluate tender documentation, specifically relating to planning requirements.
  • P3e/P6, Artemis, MS Project, various standard office softwares.
