Centro Ltd – Rapid Rail Transit – Metro (Transforming Public Transport)

Consultant – Programme Planning Manager reporting to the Programme Executive. Contracted extended on merit.

Assisted the business to secure Department for Transporting funding through an integrated and a robust logically linked, resourced and cost loaded schedule. Which is now the baseline schedule valued at £140M as a 5year programme – to deliver  6 projects which include metro/tram extension into the city centre in liaison with Birmingham New Street Gateway Project , utilities (statutory) diversions and other stakeholders. Trained a planner for the business as part of knowledge transfer. Set up earned valued management system (EVMS) with an interface with the internal accounting software package. Programme governance strategies have been developed and implemented around the masterschedule as part of my role which incorporates monthly reporting on key milestones, cashflow forecast and manpower utilization.

The multi- discipline programme is in Oracle Primavera P6 v7.0  & subcontractor schedules are in MS Projects to incorporate procurement of new trams, design & construct of a new tram depot, design and construct of Birmingham City Centre  Tram Extension under NEC3 contract, Design & construction of bus city centre interchange in conjunction with Birmingham City Council/Amey Highways Agency&PFI/Halcrow. Influenced management to implement P6 and delivered Great Charles Street Bridge Civils project (Material Operation in support of Transport Works Act) on time/budget through close monitoring including slippage control and justified extension of time based on total float.
