Project Description

To install additional capacity for, and transfer of, toothpaste & mouthwash production from 2 donor factories, to allow rationalisation, plus numerous smaller projects along similar lines.

Role & Responsibilities
Planning and reporting of installation works, enabling works (logistical process changes, toothpaste formulation development and product rationalisation), and managed transfer of production

Process development and optimisation of numerous back-office functions (QA, QC, Logistics, Maitenenace, etc) to enable increased production without significant increase in staff, utilising Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing techniques

Collation, control and distribution of large data sets relating to transferring SKUs (components, markets, formulations, stability, materials, production volumes, etc)

Negotiations with markets to drive product standardisation and hence increased production efficiency

Client liason and production scheduling

Lessons Learnt

Projects come with a number of different stakeholders, with potentially very different agendas and levels of engagement with the project. Spending time early on to engage with and understand those agendas is key to a succesful outcome. Additionally where staekholders agendas conflict, it is important to put in place a transparent system where those agendas can be understood, assesed and prioritised.
