Systems Planner, BG Group, North Morecambe Terminal

Based on site, for the construction of the largest gas processing plant in Europe, totalling 3.5 million manhours and reporting to the Planning Manager, responsibilities were for the development and maintenance of the design, procurement, construction and commissioning planning system on the P.C. based Artemis 7000.  In addition, quarterly risk analyses on Risk 7000 were performed. The updating of the corporate Artemis 6000 system was also carried out.

Responsible for the systems development and updating of construction networks, the preparation of schedule analyses and progress reports. Establishing and maintaining a construction database of over 3.0m records to control the: -

 Design/construction and procurement/construction interface
 Interfaces between 18 major construction contractors
 Construction work availability by contractor
 Construction/commissioning interface
 Day to day status of the work.

This system was the basis of the project's management and control system for the terminal development, which advised all levels of the PMT of the status of design, procurement, access, interface, construction and commissioning for every activity and operation.
 
The role also included updating the progress measurement system and producing progress statistics at four levels of detail for all contracts, performing weekly data transfer between the contractor's and BGEP's planning systems, integrating design and material availability into construction schedules through electronic transfer between project systems, performing regular Risk Analysis models utilising greater than 1000 activities.
