Senior Planning & Cost Engineer

My role is to mentor & support junior planning engineers, prepare baselines for in-hand projects, prepare professional time extension claims where applicable, review master schedules for tenders, and prepare overall reports for upper management.

Areas of Expertise

Time Management & Controlling

o   Review tenders master schedules prepared by junior planners.

o   Prepare projects baselines loaded with all resources, covering EPC stages.

o   Site visits for monthly progress updates & project performance reports.        

o   Report the critical activities & areas of concern to improve project team's effectiveness.

o   Develop with the PM corrective action plans to get the project back on track for internal delays.

o   Develop time extension claims with detailed analysis "TIA" for external delays or scope changes.

Cost Management & Controlling

o   Derive cost baseline for project cost performance assessment & client financing plan.

o   Initiate cost control reports calculating variances, indexes, future estimates & analysis for poor performance indexes, using earned value management in line with further practical considerations.

Procurement Management

o   Advise necessary dates for sub-contracting & placing purchase orders.

Human Resource Management

o   Reviewing planning candidates CVs, Interviewing, Assessment and recommend for recruitment purpose.

o   Assessment of strength & weakness points of each planning staff.

o   Managing planning staff (Assigning tasks, follow up, technical support for 3 planning engineers).

Risk Management

o   Participate in brain storming sessions to identify risks, perform analysis, plan responses & follow up.

Reporting Skills

o   Using MS Excel & Power Point, Initiate tabular & graphical reports showing company cost performance (cash in, out & profit), projects time performance & estimated completion dates.
