PARSONS BRINCKERHOFF, BAHRAIN

 

Project Controls Manager for the Owner’s Engineers team for the construction and commissioning of a new desalination plant as part of an extension to an existing independent power and water plant, comprising ten MED desalination units providing an extra capacity of 60MGPD (11,365m3/h), utilising steam supplied from existing facilities and new auxiliary boilers. New seawater intake/reject facilities together with post water treatment facilities.

 

Key achievements:

• Coordinated project schedule monitoring / risk analysis, planning and reporting of progress.

• Monitored project key milestones and liaised with Lenders’ Engineer to issue Interim Certificate payments.

• Planned and scheduled plant outages for interface work with the existing plant; aligned with government facilities.

• Led routine site inspections, monitored construction and erection progress against schedule and reported progress.

• Maintained tight control over contractual matters, claims, change management control and EPC compliance.

• Identified and mitigated against project risks through effective control over reported progress against actual progress.

• Tracked inspections and test reports and oversaw QA/QC documentation and take-over documentation.

• Managed project closeout stage issues and hand-over to O&M, controlling defects clearance and warranty issues.
