Being projects controls engineer/manager i have below role & responsibilities
Planning & control department
Developed Planning & control departments, role, policies, standards & formats
Define foundation of good project controls
Proposal & tendering
Prepare Level2 schedule for submission to client as part of proposal
Review all documents & resources related to planning & scheduling at proposal level
Evaluate the programs of EPC contractors at tendering stage
Review the planning packages for EPC contractors during tendering & during award of EPC contract
Planning-execution & monitoring
Generate high quality Base line schedule ,its approval from Saudi Tabreed’s client & its continuous updating & revisions
Break down Business Plan into discrete Planning Level 1, 2 and 3 & 4 activities
Liaise with operations and build Business Plan milestones and activities into working schedules
Review Project Schedule KPI performance propose improvement actions
High level project management meeting reports
Implement planning process consistent with the regional (Company) Activity Planning reference manual, Confirm readiness of all activities and work with operations to ensure that they understand their obligations. Accountable for resource leveling all functional activities
Liaise with EPC contractor planning teams to ensure alignment of Contractor Plans and Schedules Support project goals & deliverables
Identify those activities that risk delivery of the plan
Communicate the agreed 2W,3W, and 12 week schedule to all project and operations team members
Progress pre- and post-execution activities in Primavera on a weekly/Monthly basis
Highlight slippage in the schedule and propose actions to recover.
My role for higher management:
Consolidates all scopes of the project to view overall impacts
Clear understanding of the impacts of our performance
Preparing the agreed frequency basis highest level reports (approved by PM),which includes weekly
& monthly reports, & S-curve analysis
Preparing the presentations for board meetings.
Reviewing & Preparing EOT claims
Reports for client: Generate as per nature of project & as per contractual terms & conditions.
Monitoring the EPC contractor
Review Requirement for high quality Base line schedule & Analysis of the critical path method
After approval of schedule require continuous updating of BL schedule & Review and monitoring of Contractor schedule –Baseline vs Actual
Review Engineering & design status reports with complete weight age system & with monitor able format showing % of achieved design vs Plan (Engineering & Design Monitoringmodule)
Review material submittal, PO status, Manufacturing & delivery schedules (Procurement Monitoring Module) on periodic basis.
Review Construction reports as per nature of project required as per detail desired which may meet the goal of reporting system as per agreed planning package.
Review the payment application as per progress of the project.
Supporting to projects:
To assist and support the Project Manager in managing the Project Schedule and ensure the client gains maximum business benefits from that mechanism
Help in identifying where we need to focus our efforts, guides in allocating resources and completing the project within the requested timeframe
