Senior Lead Planning Engineer, SAHARA PETROCHEMICALS COMPANY, Triennial Turnaround of the Polypropylene & Ethylene Production Plant

  • Responsible for monitoring, controlling and directing the Maintenance Planning group.
  • Develops strategic turnaround plans and maintains the 5 year projected turnaround schedule. 
  • Ensures that T/A industry best practices are utilized
  • Drives alignment on T/A objective with the core team
  • Stewards the risk-based turnaround work scope development and management process. 
  • Prepares authorization for expenditure (AFE) funding documents and presentations for turnarounds and, as assigned, routine maintenance AFE’s. 
  • Directs the execution of turnarounds utilizing Internal and Contractor resources as may be required. 
  • Manages all turnaround reporting including HSE, cost, progress, schedule, productivity and quality. 
  • Supports development and use of Sahara Turnaround Excellence Process (STEP). 
  • Monitors the work order system and makes course corrections as required.
  • Develops weekly schedule and KPI’s for routine maintenance activities.
  • Supports the preparation of the annual Maintenance expense budget and stewards maintenance expenses throughout the year.
  • Reviews and approves invoices for maintenance expenditures.
  • Provides guidance, training, and development of turnaround and routine maintenance planning staff.
  • Supports the measurement and evaluation of contractor maintenance staffing to ensure consistency with organizational goals.
  • Analyzes maintenance performance indicators.
  • Performs job safety audits and routine safety checks.
  • Performs work sampling to develop benchmark data.
  • Monitors the safety work orders for routine maintenance
