25Aug.7 – Jul.8   Project:     Jubilee & Northern Line Project – Transmission Based Train Control  (£293M)

This project is the design, procurement and installation of a transmission based train control system on the Jubilee & Northern Lines. Key activities include the design & installation of the software & hardware for the Station Control Centres, Vehicle Control Centres, Vehicle On Board Controllers & Platform Door Interface Units. Other activities include installation of Loop & Axle Comm Systems, Vital & Non-Vital Systems.

I initially started work at the Assurance, Rolling Stock, Depot Commission Areas & Survey sections of the project. Key functions include monitoring & reporting progress on detailed level 5 programmes; attending progress meetings; advising department head the effect of variations and delays to section of work & key milestone delivery dates. Also produce charts & spreadsheets to assist in resource & costs forecasting. I also update the same sections in the main contract level 4 programme which is issued to the Client, TLL every period.

I currently work as the planner responsible for the whole of the Jubilee Line. I ensure that the level 5 programmes are correctly integrated into the main level 4 programme. I monitor progress on each section and its effect on other sections & the programme as a whole. I assist in producing delay assessment programmes for EOT claims. I ensure that the contract programme is correctly updated, and monthly reports (complete with resource, EV & cost graphs) are produced for the Client.
