Based at Sizewell ’B’ nuclear power station working as part of the station refuelling outage management group, this role involved developing resource plans for the FMA contract refuelling outage work scope, allocating resources and disciplines, specifying quantities, developing histograms, reviewing plan logic and resolving issues arising from work scope reviews. These areas were all developed using the Artemis 9000 planning software.

Following the successful period as a contract partner outage planner, I joined the station outage planning team and took on the role of Refuelling & Radwaste project planner, replacing an experienced senior planner who had planned the refuelling scope for the previous nine outages. The role involves planning (using Primavera P6 software) throughout an 18 month cycle, culminating with the high intensity refuelling outage period.
