Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

I just posted a new Weekend Puzzler at my Total Project Control blog. It’s titled “Earned Value and DIPP Analysis on the Phlogiston Mining Project.” It steps the reader through some fairly simple earned value analysis and then extends the discussion to project investment analysis by way of a project’s expected monetary value (EMV), the value/cost of time and DIPP tracking. The answers are at the end.

You can find the Puzzler here.

If you enjoy practicing your earned value skills, or you are an instructor who wants an exercise for your students (and please feel free to borrow it!), I think you’ll like this. And if you have any questions about it, or just want to tell me you liked it and want more like this, please start or contribute to a  thread on the discussion FORUM here.

Fraternally in project management,
