i am new at using P6 V8.1. I am getting this massage every time i wanna open a new menu. The massage is:

but the guy from CMCS told me not to install any Java as P6 will not work. is that true? because i am getting a blank screen. what will happen if i install the java update?
my other question regarding the optional client version of P6 V8.1, this version does not have the admin menu or the EPS icon in order to create a new EPS or to add new currency using admin menu.
Kindly Clarify.

I am in the process to start a mega road project using P6 v8.1. the question is after setting the required setting regarding Admin Prefrences & Categories along with creating new EPS using P6 web can i start creating the project using P6 optional client R8.1. as the client version looks more familiar to me than the P6 web. ( WBS, Activities, relationship, Resources, cost loading, etc... all using P6 R8.1 optional Client)

Dear Abdallah,
The guys at CMCS suck (pardon the language). Java won't hinder the performance of any version of P6. We have it installed and I keep updating my Java as and when needed or happens. And anyways, P6.8 and above are supposed to be web server environments so you definitely NEED Java running on your system.
You already have the answers regarding the EPS menu.

Oracle Primavera recommended Java Version for each installation and you can find more information about it in P6 Admin guide.
However if you do the installlation it will not effect your weblogic server.
You cannot create new EPS from 8.1 Client Version, you have to go in P6 Web Access Admin and create a new EPS from there.
Primavera 8.1 Client has no admin Menu but if you install Primavera 8.2 Client you will find admin Menu.

Whatever you decide to do, make sure that you first go to your computer’s Windows Control Panel and set a Restore Point. This way, it may be possible to go back and un-do anything that you attempt to that point. Good luck!
