Hi there,
Any one knows how "Schedule % Complete" is calculated in P5?
Can a user edit this column by typing in a number?

With regards

Bob,
Schedule % complete is automatic base on data date. You can show the schedule % complete on timescale (per hour, day, week, month, year etc...) using activity usage spreadsheet if resource or cost loaded. If not resource or cost loaded and wanted to check what will be the schedule % complete from start date to specified date, move the data date without scheduling.
To move data date without scheduling, go to Project Window->Date tab. Change the data date on the date you wanted to see schedule % complete for that date and go back to activity window. It schedule % complete column is visible you can see the equivalent percentage.

Schedule percent complete is the plan % complete of a task or schedule.

Schedule attainment is normally used in resources. It is a percentage of Full Time Equivalent (FTE) of resource plans or required which are actually available during a time period. For example if plan resource is 10 labor but the actual available is only 8 then a percentage of that is called Schedule attainment. This measurement must include the absolute value of the difference of the number of FTEs in the resource plan and the actual number of FTEs available.
On a daily, weekly, and monthly basis, this measurement must include the weighted average (based on the number of resource plan FTE) of schedule attainment for the relevant 30- minute intervals.
To illustrate this calculation, assume the resource plan calls for 15 FTE to
be available from 10:00 am to 10:30 am.
If 14.5 FTE are available during this interval, the schedule attainment would be
calculated as follows:

Calculation
1- (ABS (Actual FTE - Plan FTE)/Plan FTE)
Actual FTE = 14.5, Plan FTE = 15
1 – (ABS (14.5 - 15)/15) = 1 – (ABS (-.5)/15) = 1 – (.5/15) = 1 - .033 = 96.7%

So...how do I measure the Schedule complete % for one months activities beginning at the first day of the month...and ending on the last..?
Also does anyone know the difference between schedule complete and schedule attainment and explain it for me?
Thanks

Farzin,
If no baseline attached by default P6 assign baseline as current project so it will not be zero if datadate is already move after start date.

Many thanks Rodel for the prompt response.
By this you mean if there is no Baseline assigned/created in the current schedule, "Schedule % Complete" would be Zero, right?

Farzin,
Schedule % Complete is Plan % Complete based on baseline assigned and set in Project window-> Settings tab-> Project settings-> Baseline for Earned Value calculation whether current project or attached baseline. It is calculated based on duration as per Activity calendar and unit/time set if activities have no cost loading. If activities are cost loaded it is calculated by cost proportion as per calendar per unit/time.

NO” you cannot edit Schedule % complete because it was automatic as dictated by datadate.
