Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Dear all,

Is there any way that I can count the total projects at the Project Level? I’m having about 2000 projects tagged under year one to year 4. Suppose if i were to filter for projects tagged as year one and i want to know the total number of projects under year one, whats the best way to do?

I realised that there is no option to summarise the project count and roll up to total, as we do for total activity count. Please, someone shed some light on this issue.

Thanks.

Chandar

Thanks Rodel. I wonder if there is any way P6 can do it without the help of excel. Filtering in P6 is very useful and it would be much useful if the sub total function is available for UDF numbers or integers.

Jaya,
You can create a Project UDF = Number and enter 1 = yr1, 2 = yr2...etc.
If you need the total just highlight all or press ctrl+a to select all then press ctrl+c to copy then open an excel spreadsheet and press ctrl+v to paste then run a pivot table or subtotal.
