Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Dear Experts,

I am currently facing an issue with one our programmes which was submitted by the contractor. This is an update, we have assigned the accepted baseline to it. As you might aware, the planned value can be viewed in a column which is a cumulative figure and also periodically in a table. These two values just before the data date should match but in this programme they are not matching. I tried to find out the reason for it but failed and I would appreciate if you advice the possible reason.

Dinesh,
Of course Plan Value will keep changing once you update the Project. Plan Value will not change if you have assigned a baseline and use BL Plan Value. For current project all activities that not happened on the plan date will move after the data date therefore the plan values will also move. The use of baseline is to compare what has been targeted vs the current. Current Plan Value will become a forecast to complete.
