Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

I just came from my P6 course. Our company to date only used Microsoft Projects and we are now switching to Primavera. We are now in the process of getting the EBS set up correctly and after that we will convert ou current schedules in to Primavera. I have played around with it a little and the outcomes is not what I were hoping for. The small projects (50 - 500 lines) has no problems but the bigger projects (500 - 2000)is causing problems, in fact they don’t appear at all. Any advise?

In the past I transferred many projects from MSP to Primavera.
If there are discrepancies, they in general are due to errors or misusage in MSP. MSP accepts everything,, but not Primavera.
My procedure in general is: Check the project in MSP --> correct mistakes --> Import
Check for "effort driven" but without resources assigned, resource-id’s (Duplicate allowed in MSP, not in Primavera), and for the calendars. These are the main resons for discrepancies.

No problem depending on size of a project.

Good luck!
