Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hi,
I hope someone can clarify on this as well give some inputs:

1. What is the difference between "Schedule" - function key F9 and "Update Progress" under the Tools option ?

2. I have 70+ tasks or activities and the activity status of all of them are "In Progress". How to easily change their status as "Not Started"? I found out I need to change each one of them manually! A very tiring thing to do. Can it be changed like a copy-paste thing similar to MSProj?

3. Similar to #2 above, how to change the Start Date of all of those 70+ activities to "June 15, 2008" easily? I found out in P5, copy and paste does not work! A very basic function for a win apps.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,
Thanks everyone for your reply.

What do you mean by "Update Progress" is subjective? Is "Update Progress" and "Schedule" different?? In what sense?

The global change somewhat solve the problem, thanks.

The "fill-down" function did great but it is very annoying when it keep on asking me 70+ times if I want to make the task to "not started" because there are some actuals on it. How to skip those annoying questions?!!

1: If you call this function and then click onto the Help-Button you’ll get good information. Be aware that the algorithm (the way how it calculates) is different to P3.
2 and 3: It’s at least as easy as in MSP. Add "actual start" to the columns --> delete the entry within the upmost activity --> select all and PAY ATTENTION! with the cursor within that column --> click right mouse button --> "Fill down".
4. Ask your boss to let you join a training.

1. "update progress" is subjective; F9 is a single function of the program (meaning you run or calculate the schedule)

2. & 3. use global change
