Hi everyone.

We are doing a lot of migration of projects from P3 to P5 and are concerned that the activity codes are made global automatically. Is there any way that we can ensure that the codes are either EPS or Project codes?

Thanks

Neal

On the question, a RAG way be to use xerFileParser&Builder.xls from P3 POINT site.

Setup projects with activity codes and dummy activity codes value, export them to xer, use the above xls to split the activity codes

Cannot remember how to export activity codes from P3, but sure there is a way.

Copy to the xerFileParser&Builder.xls and convert to xer and import.

Sorry that it is RAG.

Take care with activity codes at EPS or Project level. I am not too cluey on importing them, but....

There is a glitch with Puge Deletes in 5sp1/0 where EPS or Project level activity codes can bedeleted from the activity ID assignation.

I like the codes at EPS/Project level - just have to accept that have to export/backup the acivity assignation, and reimport when they are lost.

Maybe SP2 solves this problem; not using purge deletes seems also to work at present ;-)

Additonal information:

When going through the import :

1)If you select ’combine sub projects’ then the project codes are added in the activity codes dictionary at a project level

2)If you select ’create separate projects’ then they should be added at a global level.
