Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Dear All,

We are facing a problem with Primavera Enterprise 5.0. When we are trying to make a file that is already having Actual Dates as a Baseline for another Current run of the Programme we are not getting correct results.

We have noticed that the Baseline should be a file of the programme without any Actual dates in it.

This operation is done easily with Primavera P3 Ver. 3

Will you please, find a solution, to be able to complete the tasks we have.

Regards,

The problem with setting a baseline resulting in the dates not matching when the baseline has progress is a problem. The simplest solution is to delete all the resources in P3 or P3e before you set the imported P3 baseline in P3e. P3e does not import Period Performance as it is project specific in P3 amongst other differences in calculating resource usage. The other option is to be familiar with the considerations when importing P3 into P3e. Refer to the hand book "Migrating from P3 to Primavaera V5.0", turn to page 76 and read carefully "Using Autocost Rules".

This issue was raised by one of my colleague and I already found the solution. For your information, one must be very careful when importing schedule from P3 to P5 then not missing any step in creating baseline and updating the P5 schedule.

Thanks anyway.
