Website Upgrade Incoming - we're working on a new look (and speed!) standby while we deliver the project

Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hello Moutaz,
James is correct only the layout with all its specific properties like filter , print properties , bar formats , columns and columns formats etc needs to be save manually.

The activity data items are saved as and when u insert/update them.

yuo’re both right .. sort of

any activity data you enter is immediately updated in the P3 database. So, changing a duration, activity code (structure or content), logic, etc is immediately written to the database. Whether you choose to save the layout on exit or not makes no difference, the data has already been written

The format of the view (or LAYOUT) that you are in, however, which includes which filter the view loads on opening, the printer settings and the bar colour settings amongst many other things is saved manually by the operator. I am not aware of an autosave function for this.

I suggest you experiment with this. You will find that teh layout system is a very powerful tool in P3, especially in management and reporting of more complex projects.

Pranab,

I do not agree with you, because any information you fed into P3 and you leave it without saving, P3 will ask you when you close "save layout for project ..."
