Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Thanks colleagues for your help in past. I could not say thanks individualy but I got great help from you and i acknowledge that.

My recent issue is updating activities which start and then stop without finishing, then they start at another point of time and stop again without finishing and now i am expecting them to be started again in next week.
Please let me know how to break down them into different intervals of time, or any other way of handling them.

Please give answer in detail or in steps.

Thanks

hello zameer as Eliza mentioned a activity to be suspended should have an actual date , and there can be only one suspension , i will advice if you have lots of suspension you should be setting a calender from DATA > CALENDER , ADD CALENDER AND DEFINE THE NON WORK PERIODS ( THE DAYS WHEN THERE WILL BE NO WORK IN THOSE ACTIVITIES , NOW ASSIGN THIS CALENDER TO THE ACTIVITY.

Other than breaking the original activity into separate smaller activities, the other thing I have used is the "DATES" button on the activity form which allows you to suspend & resume an activity. If your activity bars are necked, the inactive period will show as a necked area.

Drawbacks - I think the suspended date has to be an actual date (you cannot project a suspended date). I am not sure whether you can use this to suspend the same activity more than once.

Anyone else with any ideas?
