Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hi Guys

I’ve chosen into Autocost Rules that Actual COst will be calculated based on Budgeted Cost and % complete.
When I type % Actual Cost is immediatly calculated but as soon as I make a F9, the value goes to 0.
What is strange is that event does not affect all activities, only for some...
Anyway, I must type actual cost value.

My schedule has been crashed 2 days ago after a bloody crash on our network...

Hi Nic,

Good day! There’s a turn around for this kind of problem. You noticed as well that other activities were not affected by this strange behavior.

I also experienced it before. Follow the steps below to fix the problem (Assuming your activity is not completed yet and remaining duration is greater that 0).

1). Go to that activity with Resource/Cost problem.
2). Take note the Resource value, the Budget Quantity and/or Budget Cost.
3). Delete the Resource(s) and press OK.
4). Re-type the Resource(s) and Budget Quantity and Budget Cost.

You will see that it calculate correctly the Actual To Date now.

if you notice that there is a Variance below, just the type the same value of you BQ or BC to your "At Completion".

Take note, try to avoid typing the "Actual This Period". Let P3 do the calculation for you by just typing the Percent Complete at Activity Form.

Cheers Mates!

bonjour,
i m not sure if what i experience has any relation to what you experience.

in my case, when i have % complete large enough to give a 0 rem.dur, i notice all the cost/qty figures goes unpredictable. so when i need to generate any cost/qty report, i always manually change all the <100% activities with 0 RD to 1 RD.

anyone knows how to overcome the 0rd cost/qty spread irregularities, pls advise. fyi, i do not use Closeout Period.
merci.
