Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hi,
I have a question regarding resources leveling !
I think that when leveling, if primavera cannot fit into the limits of my resources, it does not try to keep the resources as close as possible to my limits. As soon as it exceeds the limits, it just schedules (and does not level anymore). Is that correct?
Thanks !

A definition of leveling is the delaying of an activity until resources are available.

Therefore by definition if you assign more resources than available then the schedule will not be able to level the task and ignore it.

There are functions available in P3 that allow leveling when the number of resources assigned to a task exceed the number available in the Resource dictionary, these are:

1. Smoothing has three options and Time Constrained uses double the maximum limit.
2. Stretching allow a task to be stretched and therefore reducing the Units per Time period.
