Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Adding One Time Expense

How can i add one time expenses for a project in the total cost that will add up in the total cost but should not distribute in any activity?

Hi Usman,

By the sound of it, you just want one activity to equal your total cost on the project. If you don't need to utilize the histograms, then just create a user defined field and call it "Total Expense Cost", and input the value to the activity that you desire.

create a LOE activity 

make the predcessors is a SS relationship with the 1st activity 

make the successor a ff relationship with the last activity in the schedule 

create a resource call it lumpsum

assign the resource to loe activity

add the cost for the project to the resource

then assign a curve to the resource
