Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Guys

Looking for a bit of help here. Does anyone know if there are any BSI standards for planning or scheduling ?

Doing a generic search comes up with over 500, ranging from tree planning to aerospace planning

I was hoping for something a little more generic (I am in the oil and gas industry)

Any thoughts ?

Cheers

Neil

Hi There, I find your question about Planning Standards interesting. It would seem sensible to have such a thing, however what you find is that within different sections of industry there are different processes. Some people call them quality planning, e.g in the rail industry there are so many safety cases, that they in fact drive the plans. In IT however, prince 2 is the standard for pulling projects together, so basically the plans are built round them. When you get into the detail for IT Delvery, most areas have procedures and processes to follow. Hope this helps, to be honest I’ve not convinced myself.
