Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hi Everyone,

I am working as a delegate of the Employer on the construction project. As a planning engineer, my main responsibility is to lead the main contractor in preparing, updating, and revising their schedule. In addition to using P6, we were requested to use MS Project for a separate schedule that is not resource-loaded. Since the main contractor significantly fell behind their durations/dates, they were requested to prepare a mitigation plan. As a result, we received an adjusted plan without changing the completion date of the schedule. My question will be based on the table below.

I would like to ask whether, if an activity has been completed before or during the mitigation preparation process, its baseline should be equal to BL1 or BL2? I believe that the baseline of the completed tasks should remain as BL1, and the remaining tasks should be updated to the new baseline (BL2).

Normally, I would advise splitting the in-progress activities and inserting a new one to mitigate the remaining works in the new plan. However, the project is fast-paced, and it may take longer to do so.
