(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hi Anthony,

We did verify the file imported OK into P6. We also used a file comparison tool to look at the differences between the MS Project 2010 and 2013 XML output files and found some layout differences between the two formats. Considering we exported the identical project in each case, it’s clear that there are some changes to the XML structure. All we can hope for now is that Microsoft don’t make further changes to the XML format before the official release of Office 2013 – or whatever name it ends up with.

Hello Emily,

Thanks for posting this update on xml imports. You mention there doesn't appear to be any differences between the 2010 xml and 13 xml, did you verify if the 2010 xml was a successful import into P6 using the same parameters?

The reason I ask we are running P6 8.1 and and are unsuccessful importing 2010 xml files and I'm trying to determine if the new 2013 release has fixed these xml import errors, or if moving up to 8.2 could possibly provide the fix. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thank you.
