Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hi,

Is it poss. to shade MSProject Cell backgrounds (like Excel does)?
Thiss useful for us to differentiate the categories of tasks.

TIA,

Its not possible to shade the whole cell, but you could use a customised flag field to highlight tasks with a graphical indicator.
Flag the tasks you want to highlight with a Yes, then customise the flag field to show a colored indicator for Yes values.
I know its not quite the same but it might do the job. This would also work with the grouping of tasks, you could group on the flag field, but when not in the group there would still be an indicator of the category of task.
