START Date:
September, 2008
END Date:

Lead Planning Engineer & Planning Section Head; Initially working for Amec (KPO’s Engineering contractor) in their Uralsk office on the Unit 2 Material Replacement Project (U2MRP) and subsequently working directly for KPO in their project offices in Aksai, as the Lead Planning Engineer. The U2MRP project scope was executed over multiple phases, consisting of 3 Train shutdowns, 2 Unit Shutdowns (for the tie-ins into common systems) and multiple segments of pre-shutdown work. My initial duties were the monitoring of engineering progress on the FEED and detailed design phases and later, after transferring to site, the project control side of procurement, construction and commissioning phases. Subsequent to completing the U2MRP project I was transferred into KPO’s General Projects team as Planning Section Head, to lead a group of national & expat Planning Engineers. My main duties there were to supervise, maintain and develop an advanced professional planning function for a large portfolio of small brown field projects, ranging from the drilling & hooking-up of Wells to various plant enhancement and safety related upgrades. I was also deeply involved in the preparation, progress reporting and performance analysis of detailed schedules for capital projects. I implemented the switchover from individual P3 schedules to an integrated portfolio of P6 schedules, capable of programme wide analysis and reporting. During my tenure I also lead risk workshops, prepared risk analysis models and reports to support the company’s value assurance process and to help determine project economics.
